I made DefectPX open source and published the source code on GitHub. I converted it to the new open source .NET platform. I added support for persisting the color index and custom color settings, so users don't lose their preferences between sessions. I improved the UI with DPI awareness to ensure it looks good on high-resolution displays. Finally, I built both 32-bit and 64-bit installers along with portable ZIP archives for easier installation and use, and to support both older and newer Windows systems.
