Star on GitHubDesktopWindows
Version 3.0.0 (). Runs on Windows 11 and 10. This is a modern Tauri rewrite of the legacy Windows Forms app - a familiar, nostalgic UI with better portability and ease of use. It uses a lightweight web-based engine under the hood.
DesktopWindows
Version 2.2.0 (). Runs on Windows 11, 10, 8, 7, Vista, XP. Requires .NET Framework 4.8. This is the final legacy Windows Forms version - kept for older systems and for anyone who wants the original build. Much of the code goes back to 2015.
Installer vs portable
The EXE is the easiest setup. The MSI is useful for admins and deployment tools. The portable ZIP needs no installation - unzip and run BeepChecker.exe.
SmartScreen
Windows Defender SmartScreen may block new releases from small publishers from starting. Click More info - Run anyway if you trust the download.
Checksums
After you download a file, you can compare its SHA-256 with the value on the BeepChecker GitHub Releases page to confirm it wasn't altered.
WebView2
Version 3.0.0 (the modern Tauri rewrite) uses Microsoft Edge WebView2. Most Windows PCs already have it; if not, the installer will download and install it for you.
